- In addition to the Steam integration, I have been exploring new methods for creating animations. These are aimed at testing and may suffer from lighting and color shifts, but hopefully those can be corrected.

- Twenty-five movies have been added to the Gallery section in the main menu. As you hover over a character, she will briefly animate before returning to her static pose. You can activate several animations at once, but as they scroll off the visible area, they will automatically end.

- I have also added a Preference option under 'Experimental' to disable this feature.

- A further twenty movies have been added to various parts of the game. These can also be disabled under the 'Experimental' section in Preferences.

- Five movies in the Monday bar scene with Karla and Melanie.

- One movie in the Wednesday fight scene with Keira.

- One movie in the Wednesday home scene with Ashley.

- Two movies in the Wednesday boutique scene with Melanie..

- Eleven movies in the Wednesday home scene with Haylee.

- The main points to test are:

- Opening and existing save file and continuing the game. If you have a save file from earlier in the game, you should be able to select the same options and see the same scenes as you did previously

- Providing you don't overwrite the existing file, your save file will remain unaffected.

- Starting a game from new. In previous tests, issues with the engine update would be first encountered at the end of the first playable day.

- Translations. Switching between and playing in another language should function normally.

- Version 6.2 is now available on the live branch.

- This version includes evening events for playable day 6, Wednesday, which close out the day.

- Version 7 will start with updates to the Ren'Py game engine. Depending on issues encountered and testing required, there could be several beta updates dedicated to this upgrade.

- I've previously mentioned that the upgrade will enable Steam achievements, but there are other important reasons for updating the game engine:

- Long-term support and compatibility: Ren'Py 7 uses Python 2, which is no longer supported and may develop issues as operating systems continue to update.

- Security: Ren'Py 8 fixes a vulnerability in the Ren'Py 7 save system that could allow a malicious save file to execute code.

- Performance and quality-of-life improvements: Faster script execution, more efficient memory use, and smoother gameplay for larger projects.

- Improved audio/video handling: Better support for modern codecs and formats, reducing playback issues on newer devices.

- Rendering upgrades: Support for high-DPI scaling, improved font rendering, and cleaner visual effects on modern GPUs and high-DPI displays.

- There is one small downside to upgrading: Ren'Py 8 is 64-bit only, which means it won't run on older 32-bit systems. For most players, this won't be an issue, since nearly all modern computers are 64-bit.

- It contains four scenes, and the Chinese translation is extended for the whole of day 1 (Friday).

- The first scene is with Karla and Noe. This is a relatively brief scene that delves deeper into the troubles in their relationship. Noe is unhappy that Karla is withholding what he calls 'girlfriend duties.' She is holding out due to the inequality in their relationship.

- This lays the groundwork for Max to steal her away from Noe by stepping up and giving her what she's missing out in their relationship.

- The next part of the Karla and Noe scene involves Caprice. After Karla walks away, Noe spots Caprice and takes an interest in her.

- Caprice's response to Noe is determined by several factors.

- If 'Netorare' is disabled in the game settings, she'll shoot him down as not her type.

- Netorare is a term used to describe a scenario where a love interest cheats on the player with another male character. This differs from Netorase, which allows the player to share a love interest with another male character.

- With Netorare enabled, Caprice's response to Noe will be based on her relationship with Max. If you haven't kept up your affinity with her, she'll be more open to Noe's advances.

- Following on will be the scene with Haylee, which will make up the majority of the update.

- Mom will bring Haylee up to Max's room and then leave the two of you alone. Max will show Haylee some self-defense moves before the scene requirement takes effect, and Haylee will either leave or stay for a longer lesson.

- For her to stay, Max needs to have a Nice Guy Persona with her, and either a High Affinity, or Medium Affinity and have kissed her in an earlier scene.

- If the player isn't interested in Haylee, they can opt to not show her further moves, causing her to leave anyway.

- Following Haylee's scene, there is a possible video call with another character. This call will only take place if specific prerequisites are met.

- Lastly, there is a scene with Mom. This is where Mom reveals she knows about Max's panty collection. This might not come as a surprise if Catherine paid Max a visit the previous evening, as she told him his Mom knows about the panties.

- The point of the scene is to plant the seed of extended functionality with the panty collection mechanic. Essentially, Mom tells Max she understands young men have certain urges, and she'll wash and return to his closet any panties that require cleaning.

- Meghan and Max's mom (Diana) are old friends who haven't seen each other in quite a while. Meghan suggests Max help Ashley with a problem she's been complaining about all day, and Max takes Ashley up to his room.

- There are a few options that determine Ashley's involvement in Meghan's path if Max is interested in pursuing Meghan. As a side character, Ashley doesn't have her own path.

- Following this, there is one more planned beta update, which will then be pushed to live, assuming no major bugs require another beta test.

- The 'fight' scene is a main path event. Both the boutique and cafe events lead into this scene.

- If you're on the boutique path, you will encounter Teri and Samantha briefly. This is to ensure Max has met Teri going forward, thus allowing the removal of an opening branch of future Teri events where she hasn't met Max.

- There will be similar events for other characters as the game progresses for the same reasons.

- Max has a simple choice in the scene, to what degree he intervenes.

- Following the fight, Meghan arrives with her trainee, Ashley.

- Ashley is a side character, like Genna, Fiora, and Tisha from the sports team (Monday Park event).

- Side characters do not have Affinity or Persona stats or appear in the Relationship app on the Smartphone/Computer. They are not love interests in general but will have lewd scenes on the path of the main character they support.

- Beta builds are for testing; please remember they may be unstable and unfinished.

- You should start a beta build with a live save file, but never take a beta save back to the live version.

- Teri at the cafe is the default choice if you're not on Melanie's path. There is no prerequisite for the scene other than Max being a young, handsome man.

- While this is primarily a Teri scene, her daughter, Samantha, does make an appearance. Due to how the paths play out in the scene, Samantha plays a bigger role than initially planned.

- Samantha also reacts to the photo Max has on his smartphone.

- This update also includes significant menu and smartphone changes to support translations. Character names, messages, relevant information, etc..., now all support different languages. Some translations in Simplified Chinese and French are included to demonstrate the system.

- Please remember the is a beta build. It may be unstable and unfinished.

- To switch to a custom branch in the Steam client, right-click on the game from the library page and select "Properties". Among the available tabs will be the "Betas" tab

- A note on the alpha/beta builds. These development/experimental builds may be used to test features or content. Not all features/content in a development build will make it into the live version or may be postponed to a later live version.

- To test features or content, you can open a save from the live build in an alpha/beta build. However, if the build is for a different branch than in your save file, you may not see additional content.

- Taking a save from an alpha/beta build into the live build is not recommended. Although it may appear to work, the development builds may change variables for testing, which could cause unexpected results (such as breaking branching paths) in the live build.

- If you saved in V1 on a menu screen you will see additional blank menu items when you open the save in V2. This is a side effect of the menu changes to allow for disabled items (prerequisite not met options). You either need to roll back a screen or just don't select a blank item. The game uses an if/else block for menus. If you do happen to choose a blank item you'll get whatever is the else path is (usually the last option, but not always).
